I had tons of fun at RT and in Chicago at the legal conference. It was especially nice to meet so many new people at RT, but also to watch some friends win awards. It was also nice to get together with my many attorney friends from all over the world who attended the legal conference.
Here are my friends Shirley Hailstock and Joy Nash picking up their RT Reviewers Choice Awards!

I was invited by another friend, Anne Elizabeth, to hang out at the booksellers party where I met many of the wonderful booksellers who help to make it all possible. I also got to meet the young man who would eventually become Mr. Romance. A nice young man who handled all the attention pretty well.

Here’s some pics from Chicago. What a pretty and clean city. Friendly people and lots of nice restaurants and places to visit. I’m definitely putting this on the list of cities to really explore in the future. I had been in Chicago about 8 years ago for BookExpo, but only for a weekend. My one recollecton was heading to the top of the Hancock Tower for some inspiring (and scary height-wise) views of the city and all the beaches along the immense lake!
Flowers along the Magnificient Mile – the main shopping area on N. Michigan Avenue
An interesting building right across from my hotel
The Chicago River. Many of my friends took river boat tours from the Navy Pier and along the river. They said it was a great way to see the marvelous architecture of Chicago and highly recommended it.
Have you ever been to Chicago or visited? What were some of your fun things to do in this beautiful city so I can make a list for next time.
Caridad, you are a JOY to party with! Look forward to next year’s RT, and events with all the trimmings. Cheers! Anne Elizabeth
