Today is a momentous day. My one and only is graduating high school. I’m sure I’m not the first parent to say this and I won’t be the last, but I can’t believe how time has flown. It seems like only yesterday that she was a tiny little baby. I remember her first steps and realize now that with those first steps she was already leaving me.
A difficult realization, but I also know this — she’s my best friend and will never be far.
On this very special day, here’s a wish for success in whatever she may decide to do! I know that with her passion and zest for life, she will always be reaching for the stars.

Congratulations to you both. That’s so exciting and heartbreaking all at the same time.
I’ve got a niece who is off to college this fall, and another one who has been accepted to go to grad school at Gallaudette in the fall. We’re excited but they’ll be so far away!
by Gretchen June 21st, 2007 at 8:41 amIt is both exciting and heartbreaking. I know she will be happy. Her university is not all that far so we’ll be able to visit on occasion.
Good luck to all your family on their accomplishments as well!

At least she is not going to far away.
by Nancy June 22nd, 2007 at 11:55 amAwww…bless your heart. It’s been a few years since mine graduated…it’s so sad!
by Dorothy June 22nd, 2007 at 1:48 pmThanks, Dorothy. I managed not to bawl like a baby. I’m saving that for when I drop her off at school.
by Caridad June 22nd, 2007 at 1:51 pmWhat a grand experience for you both - may it be blessed richly!
My niece is still way to young *going on close to 4 months* to start thinking about her day, but I can imagine when I look next it will be her time *grin*
