Tuesday Tip - Pesto and Some Tips for Losing Weight

I really was struggling with what to give you as a Tuesday Tip, torn as I am between sharing a wonderful recipe and some tips for losing weight. So I decided to do a little bit of both!

Today’s recipe uses basil from the bumper crop that is growing in my garden (and which the gopher that has taken up residence there clearly doesn’t like). Read the rest of this entry

Fashion Friday - Hazmat Suits

img106.jpgI have to confess that the sane person inside of me is freaked by what is going on outside my office door. This morning there were even more police and clean-up crews as well as large trucks and tankers hauling stuff away. This is what it looked like this morning. Read the rest of this entry

Thoughtful Thursday - Blast Update

Well, the building has told us that tests on the air quality do not reveal any contaminants, although maybe we should have known that before coming in.

The uneasy feeling is that outside they are wrapping up all the cars that were in the area of the blast and carting them away. Here’s some shots of a cab and another car all wrapped up in white plastic. Apparently, the soil and debris contain asbestos. Read the rest of this entry

Thoughtful Thursday - But for the Grace of God

My thoughts this Thursday are for my fellow Midtowners near 41st and Lexington and all those working to help them. I hope that everyone that was injured gets better quickly and my sympathies go out to anyone who lost someone in the blast. Read the rest of this entry

Wicked Wednesday - Wicked Dancing at the Harlequin Party

One of the most fun things about the conference are the publishers’ parties. I went to the Pocket party which was absolutely wonderful. Intimate dining at a top notch restaurant. Wonderful discussion around a table of ten. The publicity people made these beautiful name badges which looked like miniature versions of our books. It was awesome.

Then there was the Harlequin party! Hundreds of authors and industry professionals. Harlequin started the night by presenting awards for authors who had done 25 books for them and another author who had done 75 books for them. WOW! 75 books!!! Read the rest of this entry

Tuesday Tip - Caramel Oatmeal Chewies by Patrick Sanchez

patrick1.jpg I had the pleasure of meeting Patrick Sanchez at last year’s Chica Lit festival in Miami. Here’s a picture of me with Patrick and my friends and fellow authors, Lara Rios and Berta Platas.

Patrick recently provided me with a double treat — he let me review his latest novel, ONCE UPON A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN and to thank me for the review, sent along some wonderfully tasty goodies. Read the rest of this entry

In Memorium Monday

SHANNAI know you were expecting a Guilty Pleasure today, but given the news that Kathleen Woodiwiss has passed away, I wanted to dedicate today to her since without her, the romance genre might not exist and certainly you and I would not be here at this blog today. Read the rest of this entry

Fashion Friday - Freaking out!

I’m freaking out about what to wear today! I’m off to my alma mater, Villanova University, because they want to interview me for the Villanova magazine. I am so honored! I love getting the magazine and reading about what’s happening at the school, the students and all the alumni. Read the rest of this entry

I want to apologize to those of you who have been experiencing problems with the website off and on. It was a hosting issue and we are getting it fixed sometime in the next day or so. That means that any changes I make in the next day or so will disappear.

So, I will be posting the winner of the ghost contest on Wednesday to avoid any issue with losing the information!!

Thanks for your patience with this.
