I used to do embroidery on jeans things — I’ll have to post a picture of my denim cut-offs with my creations!

I’ve been toying with embroidering a jacket for THE CALLING, but I don’t have the time anymore to do the needlework, unless of course I work on it while watching TV (although I often write while watching TV as well!)

Well, how convenient. I just said to myself “Let’s see what Caridad is up to today” and the Jeans Jacket thing came up.

I bought the coolest Jean Jacket last year at the Michigan Womyn’s festival from the Spiral Woman’s booth. She does batik and hand painted clothing. (www.spiralwoman.com though it looks like she hasn’t been updating her site lately.)

Anyway the jacket is the coolest thing. First of all it’s purple. Then if that weren’t enough there are white spirals painted on the front and the center of the back (between the seams) has a red painting with blue hands. I think it’s a hindu design. Hands that look kind of like tulips. I’ll have to send you a picture. Anyway to be sure when I’m wearing my spiral woman jacket I AM the grandest tiger in the jungle. Though it’s probably a little hippie chic for some people.
