I could not wake the inner Fashionista this morning. The weather was gloomy and wet. The only thing I could think about was slipping on my Columbia rain/winter boots so that my feet wouldn’t get wet.

I hate wet feet. Must be the cat in me!

Actually, the more I thought about, the more I realized how hard it is for me to do the Fashionista thing on a regular basis now that my daughter is on hiatus due to the demands of school.

So it occurred to me to spice Fridays up by offering some fun stuff that I can do! So, look for Fun Fridays on a regular basis. I’ll be posting things you can do on the ‘Net as well as possibly some humorous jokes that have come my way.

To get you started - some online puzzles. When I was a kid, my mom, sis and I would spend hours together working on puzzles. One time it took us a few months to finish one of those really complex gazillion piece puzzles, but we did it!

Sorry to not have posted today, but I’m in the throes of finishing up revisions for the next CALLING book — FURY CALLS — which is about Meghan Thomas and sexy punk vampire Blake Richards from DESIRE CALLS.

It’s that time of year when businesses hold their annual parties to celebrate the holidays. There are those who get dressed to the nines for these events, but as you must have guessed by now, I’m a simple kind of women. I’ve got a cute little white shirt that has Christmas ornaments embroidered down the front.

Bryant Park has been transformed again for the winter! They’ve set up the Citibank Ice Skating Pond over the great lawn. Luckily it’s gotten cold enough to freeze whatever the surface is so people can skate.

They also had something going up yesterday and my sis caught the activity on her way home and sent this picture — snowmaking at Bryant Park so they could film a scene for the upcoming Sex and the City movie. How cool is that? Read the rest of this entry �

For a number of years, I’ve done workshops on the state of Latino fiction and as I am going to be doing a number of talks on this topic in the coming year, I wanted to update some aspects of the discussion. It occurred to me that it might be good to broaden the fact-finding to include various kinds of multicultural fiction and not just Latino fiction.

Armed with that intent, I’ve developed a survey (click here to access the survey) as a way of allowing you to offer your opinions on the state of multicultural fiction today. As the survey is intended to reflect current publishing trends, I am asking only published authors or those with books that are to be released shortly, to offer their comments on the survey.

As this is my first attempt at a survey of this nature, I also beg your indulgence if it’s lacking in any way.
