CONTEST! Post Comment on this blog until October 31! CONTEST! Post Comment on this blog until October 31!
ww.jpgThis Wicked Wednesday brings something totally new — a work in progress. I’ve been developing an urban fantasy involving a twist to the werewolf mythology, battles with vampires and a struggle for control in a werewolf pack. The tentative title is UNDEAD UPRISING. Thoughtful Thursday - The Creative Process Caught by the Cameras

This wonderful little video clip was sent to me by one of my editors, who found it to be hilarious and I couldn’t agree more! I was rolling on the floor laughing my ass off (ROFLMAO for those who do not have teenage kids and wondered what that Acronym meant). Read the rest of this entry

Wicked Wednesday - Apples, the Not-so-Amazings and the Amazon

Golden Apple AwardLast night I picked up my Golden Apple Award for Author of the Year! It was so exciting and totally spectacular to receive this honor in front of so many friends and industry professionals. My wonderful editors, Stacy Boyd and Jessica Alvarez, were present as was Mavis Allen, another delightful editor from Harlequin. The New York City Romance Writers Chapter did an amazing job with their hospitality and the goodies they had for us to nosh on. Here’s a picture of the award I got, along with a beautiful certificate created by my friend and fellow writer, Patt Mihailoff. Read the rest of this entry

Guilty Pleasures Monday - Jensen Ackles

It also marks the commencement of the countdown for the launch of the fall television season (Did I ever mention I’m a video junkie?). Read the rest of this entry

Silly Sunday - Chupacabras in Texas

There is a woman who claims to have found chupacabras in Texas! The woman, Phylis Canion, and her neighbors apparently discovered the bodies of three chupacabras near her ranch in Cuero, Texas. For the complete story, click here.

Canion kept one of them for DNA testing and took some pictures of the creature who is really butt ugly and looks nothing like the creature of legend that I described in DEVOTION CALLS. Read the rest of this entry

Guilty Pleasures Monday - Daniel from All American Guys

This is a tough job searching out handsome men for you for our Guilty Pleasures Mondays. Really difficult work. I mean, having to decide which of these men I should feature. LOL.

Well, it seems as if my job just got easier since I ran across some videos which led me to www.allamericanguys.com. Whew and WOW! This is male muscle at its finest. You can even send postcards to your friends (like me!) Read the rest of this entry

Wicked Wednesday - FATE CALLS from Holiday with a Vampire

Today’s Wicked Wednesday is about the ultimate Scrooge — Hadrian, a two-thousand year old vampire who finds himself with a bell-ringing Santa on the steps of his Manhattan brownstone.

Christmas with a vampire? Well, I was a little surprised as well when my editor called with the idea for this anthology, but the more I thought about it, the more that it fascinated me. I could pit the darkness of the vampire against Santa and all the goodness and light of the Christmas holiday! And as dark and dangerous as Hadrian is, beneath all that was a soul aching to be reached. It was just going to take someone really special. Enter Connie Morales, tough NYC lawyer who has volunteered to play Santa to earn some brownie points with her boss. Read the rest of this entry

My trip to Mystic, Connecticut

Mystic SeaportMy husband and I had been married for nearly a year and had been living with my dad and grandma since my mom had passed. We needed a little time to ourselves and with the weatherman saying the weekend would be great, we decided to take a trip to Mystic, Connecticut. We hadn’t planned on spending the night, but decided to pack a bag just in case. Read the rest of this entry

Gretchen’s Ghost Story

Gretchen at CallenishDuring my recent trip to Scotland I had an unusually spooky experience. I was traveling with my good friend Meg, her husband Terry and their daughter Hannah who is 15. Hannah was my travel buddy on this trip and we shared a room in two of the three hotel/guest houses along the way. Hannah is a delight, and charged as I was with looking out for her when separated from her parents, I took my job seriously. Read the rest of this entry

Our encounter with some spirit orbs

We had a quinceañera party (the Cuban equivalent of a Sweet Sixteen) at a very old inn. When we downloaded the photos, we noticed orbs in a number of photos. When we got back the photos from the camera with film, we also had more orbs. I decided to do some research and found out that people thought these were spirit orbs. Read the rest of this entry

Thoughtful Thursday - Do you believe in ghosts?

Today’s Thoughtful is all about ghosts and quite frankly, I don’t know what I’m doing here.

I’m Stacia, a two thousand year old vamp and I’ve had my share of supposedly wrathful wraiths who could barely cause a goosebump. But Caridad asked me to visit this little inn to meet a new friend of hers – Henri de Montmorency, the Ghostest with the Mostest. Normally I’d be disinclined for such a meeting, but it was Caridad who asked and while I am nearly invincible over most immortals and humans, for Caridad I’d do anything. After all, she is the one who created me – Stacia – and has promised to give me yet another interesting adventure next year. In Miami no less. After experiencing the passion of one particularly intriguing Cuban, I can’t wait to go south and see what Caridad plans for me. Who knows, I might finally meet a man who is a worthy match for me.

Guilty Pleasures Monday - Adrian Paul

Adrian Paul from the Highlander SeriesSo many of you have mentioned this hunk, that I had to pick him for this Monday’s Guilty Pleasure.

If I had to select someone who would play either Ryder Latimer (DARKNESS CALLS, DEATH CALLS) it would probably have to be Adrian Paul. Sexy and sensitive. A warrior and a lover. Woo . . . Getting a little warm here this Monday morning!

What do you think? Could Adrian be Ryder?

FYI — There’s another HIGHLANDER movie - HIGHLANDER: THE SOURCE - that’s supposed to be released in September of this year.
