I have a tendency to collect things and every now and then I know it’s time to go through my stuff and wean out things that should either be thrown out or which can be donated to others who need them more than me. Even though it’s not Spring, something made me get going on it! So I went through my T-shirt drawers (yes more than one), sweater drawer, shoe rack, table linens, etc. to do that Spring cleaning. I was very happy with the results since my drawers are nice and organized and I was able to donate quite a number of useful items to Goodwill. I also know that whatever they don’t keep to resell will be recycled rather than just ending up in a dump somewhere. In The Family She Never Met, there’s mention of a very special table that the heroine’s grandmother bought at a St. Vincent de Paul location. That story comes from my family’s real history and that table now resides in my daughter’s house. I hope in time she’ll pass it to her children along with the story of how it was acquired.
