Axolotl are apparently a big thing now with kids. So much so that when one of our great nieces and nephews heard my daughter was going to name her baby Axel, they thought it was after the cute little axolotl salamander. We did a trip to the local aquarium the other day and what did they have but a cute pink axolotl in one of their tanks. They also had a plush toy in the gift shop and I had to buy it for Axel. The kids loved the idea that Axel would have an axolotl. P.S. I have no books with an axolotl. The closest thing I have is a serpenty demi-goddess demon terrorizing archeologists in Aztec Gold. LOL.
