#WriteWed Upcoming Projects

I want to thank everyone who has been writing to ask about series like Take a Chance, The Sin Hunters, and The Calling is Reborn. I do plan on having more stories in those series and I figured I’d tell you what’s up with me project-wise for the coming year.

I had a great time at RWA National and pitched a new contemporary romance series to two editors. I’m in the process of reaching out to someone to represent that project and hope to have it out shortly.

I’ve got a number of stories in the Jersey Girls series that I plan to have out in September, October and November. Two of the books are baseball-themed and were never published before! The third book is a Christmas-themed story.

Embrace the Night and Fight for Love are new works in the Take a Chance and The Calling is Reborn series. The plan is to have Embrace out in September and Fight for Love in October.

I’m also revisiting The Shattered, which is Sammie and Ryan’s story in the Sin Hunters series. If all goes as planned, that will be out in early 2016.

Last, but not least, I loved the thief from To Catch a Princess and am hoping to have his story for you in 2016 as well.

What’s up after that? More stories because a writing is always writing.

Romancing the Military ManI’ve also got some more box sets coming out for you this year! I’ll have more info on those shortly, but for right now, check out Romancing the Military Man which is now available for pre-order. #WriteWed FIGHT THE SHADOWS & Tortured Heroes

FIGHT THE SHADOWS Romantic SuspenseWho doesn’t love a good tortured hero? One whose dark side has him walking along a very fine edge that threatens to make him fall into the shadows? That’s how I pictured Rick Sanchez from FIGHT THE SHADOWS.

A former Marine, Rick has returned from war and has decided to continue to serve and protect as a New York City policeman. His time in the Police Academy also brings him the love of his life.

Unfortunately, his marriage is short-lived as his wife is gunned down by gang members a few years later. Worse, the NYPD claims his wife was dirty and that her death was due to her being involved with the gang members.

Rick knows better and leaves the force, vowing to find his wife’s killers and clear her name.

Enter the heroine, National Guardsman Patricia Morales, who also happens to be the half-sister of one of the men that Rick believes is responsible for his wife’s execution. Rick doesn’t want to be attracted to her because of that and because he doesn’t want a relationship with another woman who has to place her life on the line every day in order to protect the people of New York City.

But Patricia is strong, intelligent and beautiful and Rick finds himself admiring the gutsy woman and quickly falling in love with her as they work together to stop a terrorist attack in New York City.

I hope you’ll take a moment to check out FIGHT THE SHADOWS.

#WriteWed Inspiration for FIGHT THE SHADOWS

I walk to and from Penn Station every day to get to my office, weather permitting of course. During those walks, I regularly see members of the Joint Task Force Empire Shield. These soldiers are part of the National Guard and have been protecting NYC transportation centers and other key locations since the September 11 attacks. I dedicated FIGHT THE SHADOWS to them for the work that they do!

The heroine in the book is a member of JTFSE and lives on base in Fort Hamilton in Brooklyn. You don’t get to see that location in the story, however. I am hoping to do another story with Patricia and Rick in the future and maybe I’ll have a scene or two at Fort Hamilton.

Click here to see photos of the JTFSE during training sessions.

As for the hero and heroine, here is how I pictured Patricia and Rick, a former Marine and NYPD officer.

#WriteWed Glorious Summer Mornings

I’ve been struggling with a story for the last few weeks. Don’t know why, but something hit me the other day that just was a big “Duh!” and made everything make sense finally.

I guess this is why you should outline a story first, but I’m really still a pantser. To some, I would call it being “organic” which is BS for I’m a pantser. LOL.

But this realization came to me as I was taking a stroll along the boardwalk, working out some plot issues and wondering if I would ever finish the story. It was a glorious summer morning (summers start on Memorial Day down the shore!) much like this morning. Bright blue sky. Slight breeze. Not too hot or too cold. Lovely.

Days like that lift me up and inspire. You could say the clear they cobwebs out of my brain so that the “Duh!” moment can happen and the story can progress.

So, that’s my Write Wednesday for today. I’ll leave you with this photo of some lovely lilies I saw in Bryant Park this morning as I walked to my office.

#WriteWed Happy Earth Day!

It seems like an appropriate day to discuss how nature inspires me when I write. Whether it’s providing a soothing backdrop for when I’m writing or an interesting location, Nature inspires me!

For the Sin Hunter, Take a Chance and Jersey Girl series, I was inspired by the beauty of my home state, especially the Jersey Shore.

For The Calling is Reborn series, it was New York City. I know you probably don’t associate tall skyscrapers and an urban locale with Nature, but there are many lovely areas filled with trees and flowers, like Bryant Park and this little slice of beauty – Herald Square.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Write Wednesday and Happy Earth Day to you all!

#WriteWed The Boys of Summer & Jersey Girls

I love baseball which is what led me to write two baseball-themed books that you’ll see later in the year as part of the Jersey Girls Contemporary Romance series. I love the strategy of the game. I love that you can be any height or size to play. I love the uniforms, especially on cuties like David Wright.

Last night I got to go to the Mets-Phillies game with my daughter and here are some photos for you! But before I go – It’s also the release day for the Jersey Girls Contemporary Romance Series #1. If you like sensual and emotional stories, I think you’ll like these novels with sexy heroes, smart women, and a glimpse of some very different parts of New Jersey! You can order the box set here:
