Grab Yourself a Ghostly Romance

It’s that time of year for a ghostly romance so why not grab yourself a copy of Ghost of a Chance, my murder mystery novella filled with ghosts, bootleggers during Prohibition, a haunted Jersey Shore mansion, an unexpected romance, and a million dollar prize! Here’s a teaser for it:

True crime writer Tracy Gomez was caught off guard by an unusual offer from New York City attorney Peter Angelo. A cool million bucks is up for grabs to anyone who solves the mystery of three deaths that happened decades ago. Tracy, desperate for cash to fix up her new inn and give her writing career a boost, is tempted by the offer. But, solving this murder mystery is not an easy task! But Tracy encounters unexpected help from the other side during a séance, and to add to her troubles, she’s falling for the sexy attorney overseeing the contest. Can Tracy crack the case and win a prize far more valuable than a million dollars?

A reader lives a thousand lives

I’m going to spill the beans this morning: I was that kid who devoured everything in sight! From Captain Crunch boxes to the entire encyclopedia, I was a reading demon. I couldn’t wait to head to the library to grab a fresh read, and my summer excitement was waiting for the bookmobile’s arrival! Why was I such a book nerd? Because every time I opened a book, I traveled to a new place and time, living a whole new life! Reading taught me so much, and thanks to an amazing teacher in the fifth grade in Levittown, I realized I could write my own stories and take others on awesome adventures. I owe her, because she opened up a whole new world of opportunities for me. If you need a little stuck pick-me-up, grab a new book, and come experience something new and exciting!

Action, Adventure, and Aztec Demons

I was lucky to visit Mexico many times while I working as an attorney! We had some fabulous Mexican clients who became good friends and I loved learning about their culture and exploring Mexico City, Guadalajara and Tequila. I wanted to honor them by creating stories featuring what I had learned during those adventures and that’s how Aztec Gold and The Fifth Kingdom were born. Aztec Gold is an exciting Indiana-Jones-style action-adventure romance about a missing archeologist and the lover traveling into the jungle to find and save him from an Aztec demon. As for The Fifth Kingdom, I’ll be re-releasing that novel in a month or so and I know you will also love that story about the search for a mystical object that can be used by terrorists to destroy the world! If you have Kindle Unlimited, you can download Aztec Gold for free at https://amzn.to/3OYslaj.

An exciting mix of vampire and suspense

What do you get when you mix Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The X-files? Take a guess? Those were the shows I was loving when Diana Reyes started screaming in my brain to write her story. I was actually writing another book that was due but I had to set it aside to write a few chapters of Darkness Calls, the first book in The Calling is Reborn Vampire Novels. I knew that tortured FBI Agent Diana Reyes needed a challenge and what could be more daunting than falling for possible suspect Ryder Latimer who turns out to be a very sexy Southern vampire? If you love vampire romances and also love romantic suspense, check out The Calling is Reborn series. The first three books are free on Kindle Unlimited!

Getting to know me!

As I mentioned the other day, I’m part of a Latino Romance Author chain on Instagram to bring awareness to the many Latino authors that are writing romance. Today it’s time to share a little bit more about me!

My Heritage: I was born in Cuba and identify with that culture since it shaped my earliest memories, but my grandparents all came from Galicia in Spain. Galicia is unique in that it’s a Celtic Nation.

What I Write: I currently write contemporary romance and romantic suspense, but for many years I wrote vampire suspense stories! I was also the ghost writer for the Jane the Virgin Novel, Snow Falling, and my sweet contemporary romance South Beach Love was an Original Hallmark Movie in 2021.

Why I Write: I loved to read as a child and often escaped into stories of places I didn’t know and people who had amazing adventures. I want to be able to create those worlds and places for other readers so that I can bring them enjoyment, peace, humor, romance, and hopefully, a greater understanding of my culture.

One Thing About Me: I am basically shy. Yes, I hear a lot of laughter after saying that, but it took a lot of courage to learn how to be more outgoing. I’m glad I did get past my shyness since I’ve met so many fascinating people.

My Books You Should Read Now: I love my new South Beach Security romantic suspense series set in Miami. I’m excited to say that it continues with a K-9 division spinoff in May 2024. There is also The Family She Never Met which is based on my family’s experiences in coming from Cuba. I’m excited to say that it’s nominated for a Latino book award and I hope to be able to share more info on that soon.

The Chain continues tomorrow with:

Happy Humpday Update

So much is happening and I thought I’d fill you in! Still working on my transformation and lifestyle change but I’ve been stuck at 43 pounds lost for close to a month. It’s a combination of having to eat out and traveling. I’ll be traveling again soon and will share photos with you once we’re back! I’ve finished all four of the South Beach Security K-9 series books and I’ve got a proposal for my editor that revisits one of my fave books – Cold Case Reopened. I hope she’ll be interested in that proposal because I’m excited about revisiting those characters as well as letting Sophie and Robbie have their own stories. You actually first met them in Cold Case Reopened even though they are a key part of the South Beach Security team! I’ll keep you posted on how that goes. In the meantime, have a great Hump Day!

First Day in Anaheim

I’m off to Anaheim for the annual Romance Writers of America conference. Looking forward to the workshops, but also seeing so many old friends and hopefully making new ones. My flight was thankfully uneventful and so far the weather here has been great. Did a walk around the area and discovered the hotel is directly across from Disney, but I don’t plan on going there. There’s too much else to do, including presenting a workshop on Friday. Also, there is a book signing on Saturday and it’s open to the general public. The signing is from 1 to 3 pm at the Anaheim Marriott and I hope you’ll be able to attend.
