I am so excited about my two upcoming events and I need your help to pick the nail art for them! But first, a little about the events. I’m flying out next week to Denver for my first time ever at Readers Take Denver! As excited as I am, I’m also a little nervous about such a big event. I think there are nearly 3000 attendees with all the authors, narrators, and vendors who will be there. I’ll be taking part in the book signings on Friday and Saturday and will also be moderating a panel on Getting the Perfect Agent. Once I’m back, I hit the road again with my daughter and some Jersey friends for the absolutely fabulous Day of Wine and Romance on May 3-5. Roz Lee is the author who runs this event and it is such a fun and intimate gathering at the Brook Hollow Winery. It’s a great opportunity to chat with the authors and snag some tasty wine as well. There is a Meet and Greet the authors on Friday night and book signings on Saturday and Sunday. Plus it’s right near the beautiful Delaware River. If you’re in the NY/NJ/PA area, I highly recommend this event and hope you’ll come by. In the meantime, what nail art do you like? I’ll be doing two of them!
Happy National Siblings Day
It’s National Siblings Day so I’m sharing a picture of me with my two siblings! Actually, my mom and dad are in this photo as well! I’m off to the right next to my dad while my sister Carmen is off to the left with my mom. My brother Gonzalo, who earned the nickname Duke in high school, is in the center of the photo. I’m not quite sure when this photo was taken, but I’m pretty sure it was taken at a park on Long Island where we had gone to spend the day with some friends. I love stories where there are siblings like the At the Shore series with Owen (One Summer Night) and Jonathan (What Happens in Summer) Pierce. How about you? Do you have siblings or love stories with siblings? Share a photo if you’d like!

Exciting and Unusual Locations
Real estate agents will tell you that location is everything when choosing a home. Readers are a little more forgiving thankfully! I know many of you like stories set on ranches or the Pacific Northwest. I took a risk to set my new series in Florida and places like Miami and the Everglades and hope you’ve been enjoying those locations in the South Beach Security series. But that made me think about some out-of-the-world locations literally. I haven’t set any stories in space like my friend and fellow author K.M. Fawcett, but I have had some in the ocean like The Shifter’s Kiss. That makes me wonder if you’d ever read books either set in outer space or in the deep sea. Which of those would you choose or if not, what other location do you like seeing in your books!

My Favorite Foods! Share Your Favs!
Everyone has their favorite foods that they would choose almost every time. With my Cuban heritage, my favs lean in that direction. A tasty Cuban sandwich. Roast pork (essential for the sandwich LOL!) Ropa vieja, a flavorful dish of shredded beef in tomato sauce. Maduros, those sweet ripe plantains that everyone devours on Christmas Eve. What are your favorite foods? Share them with us and why you love them! You may know that food sometimes plays a big role in my books, like South Beach Love which has the two chefs and More than a Mission where the heroine is a chef. But you may not know about Tori Got Lucky which I re-released as Charity Pineiro. (Charity is my nickname). Tori Got Lucky is set in Miami and you’ll find mention of lots of my fav foods in that story and its sequel, To Catch Her Man. If you love stories about women facing big changes in their friendships and lives, you might want to check it out at https://amzn.to/338Mcdu. Here’s a teaser for it:
Finding Mr. Right wasn’t what she had in mind . . .
When Tori got lucky, she never imagined that her one night fling would turn into something more. But her birthday surprise turns out to be “the one” and before long, she and Gil are talking about making it something a little more permanent.
There’s just one problem. Okay, maybe more than one. Like Tori’s three best friends who fear that once Tori gets married, she’ll disappear as so many of their friends have over the years. And her mother and father who are making all kinds of noises about Tori and Gil’s plans for a quick and simple wedding. Not to mention Tori’s perfect sister with her new little baby. . .
With pressure building from all sides, Tori and Gil do the only possible thing: Elope. But can their new marriage survive the demands of friends, family, and their own insecurities?
Only time will tell whether Tori truly got lucky.
Favorite Dresses for the Blushing Bride
Good morning! Now that the Super Bowl is over, it’s time to discuss some really important things like what’s the right dress for a blushing bride like Emma from Never a Bride. As a wedding planner, Emma has to deal with all kinds of women, including some pretty awful bridezillas. The funny thing is that even though Emma is a wedding planner, she doesn’t believe in happily ever after and she also can’t see that her Prince Charming is right in front of her nose. But if Emma was going to plan her own wedding, what would she choose? A simple gown or one that was very fancy? What about you? What would you choose? I had a very simple cocktail length dress while my daughter had a gorgeous gown. Both were the right choices for us.
